NINIOLA APATA known in showbiz as NINIOLA is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer born on the 15th of December 1986. NINIOLA comes from EKITI STATE, Nigeria.
Niniola Early Life and Personality
Niniola love for music developed right from childhood. In high school her mates would request for songs and performances from her and was nicknamed “the human radio“ in the process. She was part of her high school’s cultural group.
Niniola has a SCHOLARSHIP project called ADOPT-A-CHILD’S-EDUCATION which she STARTED IN JULY 2015 to give scholarship to needy children.
Niniola Music Career
Niniola was the 3rd Runner-Up in the MTN PROJECT FAME Competition Season 6 (2013) where she performed her personal composition “ITURA” .
Niniola’s mentors and music influencers are Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, The Cranberries, Madonna, Beyoncé and Yoruba(African) music from which she developed her music style.
Niniola’s first Single “Ibadi” produced by Sarz, which she branded as “AFRO-HOUSE” is a blend of Afrobeat and House music.
After her single, Niniola went on to release songs like “Gbowode”, “Akara Oyibo”, “Soke”, “Shaba”, “J’ete”, “Start All Over”, “Jigi Jigi” , “Maradona” & “Sicker”, Saro, Oyin, Magun, Magun Remix, Bana, Designer whose combined video viewership are over 17.5 million views on Youtube alone.
Niniola’s Maradona has over 2 million streams on Spotify and over 5.6 million views on YouTube. Maradona reached No. 1 on the biggest charts in Africa including Metro FM SA, MTV Base South, YFM and Beat FM 99.9 Nigeria and became the most played song on Radio in South Africa for a period according to RadioMonitor SA.
Niniola has also collaborated with artists such as Uganda’s dancehall artist and BET Awards 2015 ‘Viewer’s Choice Best New International Artist’ EDDY KENZO. Niniola’ feature on the remix of EDDY KENZO’s hit single “Mbilo Mbilo” won them the award for Best Collaboration at the 2016 AFRIMA Awards.
In April 2018, “This Is Me” was nominated for the Best African Artist Album at the South African Music Awards 2018.
On 7th August, 2018, Niniola became the first female Nigerian artist to cross 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
On November 2018, Niniola headlined her first ever concert “The Human Radio“.
